November 2019 – Lauriane Lebrun, Marketing & Communications Coordinator

The Great Bay Rowing Club (GBR), based in Dover and Durham, is a nonprofit organization providing opportunities, facilities, equipment, and instruction to novice and experienced rowers in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire.  The club is open to both recreational and competitive rowers, and has programs for adults as well as high school students.

Under the guidance of Rowing Director Hallie Woods, club teams compete in regattas including the Textile River, Head of the Charles, Masters National, Masters World, and the New England Junior Regional Championship.  Rowers can also take private lessons with GBR’s experienced coaches, participate in erg training sessions, and attend club social events.

As a nonprofit, GBR relies on the support of volunteers to coordinate boathouse cleanup days, provide food at regattas, help plan overnight regatta trips, organize end-of-season banquets, and more.  The club also depends on donations to fund operations, equipment, and its junior rower financial aid program, which helps make rowing available to local high school students who otherwise would not be able to participate.

Need a unique gift idea this holiday season? GBR offers gift certificates for rowing lessons!
