February 2020 – Lauriane Lebrun, Marketing & Communications Coordinator
The Southeast Land Trust of New Hampshire (SELT) is an Exeter, NH-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit working “to protect and sustain the significant lands in our communities for clean water, outdoor recreation, fresh food, wildlife, and healthy forests.” Since 1980, SELT has conserved more than 20,000 acres of NH land through conservation agreements and ownership. Protection efforts focus on farmland, drinking water, wildlife habitats, and forestland.
For those looking to get outside to explore and learn, SELT offers trail guides, events, and field trips. The public is welcome to use SELT-owned lands for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Mountain biking, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and hunting are also permitted on designated properties.
SELT’s Get Outside Adventure Team and Land Steward volunteer programs provide additional opportunities to get involved with the organization. Volunteers support field trip leaders, lead property walks, perform land management work such as removal of invasive plants, assist with administrative tasks, and more.
